The ITI (International Team for Implantology) is a worldwide organisation dedicated to advancing the field of implant dentistry through research, education, and collaboration. Its membership includes dental professionals, researchers, and industry partners from around the world who share a passion for improving patient care through innovative implant solutions.
As the South African branch of the ITI, we are committed to providing members with access to the latest advances in implant dentistry, as well as opportunities for continuing education, professional development, and networking. Members include leading implant dentists, oral surgeons, periodontists, and other dental professionals who are dedicated to improving patient outcomes and advancing the field of implantology in South Africa and beyond.
As dental professionals, we always take care to find the best solution for each patient. Success is when a patient can smile and chew as freely as if they had natural teeth.
Nowadays, it is primarily men who specialise in implantology, and there are fewer female role models when it comes to surgeons, speakers, key opinion leaders and practice owners.
Although the percentage of women dental school graduates is constantly increasing, only a minority become active in implant dentistry. If this trend continues, patient access to implant therapy and proper maintenance is at risk.
This is what motivates us as WIN members. Whether they want a successful career as a surgeon, business owner or academic, we want to inspire and engage more women in implant dentistry.
WIN wants to build a strong community of women who are active and successful in implant dentistry. This network connects female dental professionals at local, national and international levels.
We invite women and men across all fields of dentistry to join us at this annual celebration of women in the industry.
The goal of this event is to network, learn and celebrate with like-minded professionals.
